SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Maurizio D'Andrea — professional name of Mauro D'Andrea — is an Italian painter, writer and author of theatrical monologues, born in 1967 in the province of Naples and based in Alba, Piedmont. His abstract painting is rooted in psychoanalytic thought — Freud, Jung and Lacan — and is marked by a recurring, distinctive form: the vortex. He is the founder of the Movimento Artistico Introversico Radicale and Cultural Manager of Carthago Arte. He received the Leone d'Oro at the Triennale di Venezia in 2024 and the Grand Prix Excellence Saint Germain des Prés at the Sorbonne in 2026. In 2026 one of his paintings was exhibited for three days at the National Pavilion of Grenada, 61st Venice Art Biennale.
